RICORDARE TIENANMEN SI DEVE: IL VERO VIRUS E' L'INACCETTABILE IPOCRISIA DEL POTERE.

Hong Kong non avrà la tradizionale veglia con candele del 4 giugno per ricordare le sanguinose vicende di piazza Tienanmen: per la prima volta in 30 anni, la polizia ha «vietato» la manifestazione.

La decisione è motivata dalle regole sul distanziamento sociale per contenere la diffusione del Covid-19 la cui scadenza è prevista nello stesso giorno.

Lee Cheuk-yan, presidente della Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China, l’associazione di attivisti che si batte per una Cina democratica e che organizza l'evento, ha confermato che la cerimonia è stata dichiarata fuorilegge e che le autorità hanno citato la «significativa minaccia» per la vita e la salute pubblica, dato l’alto rischio di trasmissione del coronavirus.

O, forse, il vero rischio è quello di ricordare alle coscienze cosa sia la Libertà.

Hong Kong will not have the traditional candle vigil on June 4 to commemorate the bloody events in Tiananmen Square: for the first time in 30 years, the police have "banned" the demonstration.

The decision is motivated by the rules on social distancing to limit the spread of Covid-19 which expires on the same day.

Lee Cheuk-Yan, president of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China, the activist association that fights for a democratic China and that organizes the event, confirmed that the ceremony was declared outlawed and that the authorities cited the "significant threat" to life and public health, given the high risk of coronavirus transmission.

Or, perhaps, the real risk is to remind consciences what Freedom is.
