Il suo decesso è stato reso noto proprio nei giorni in cui la repressione si è fatta più dura nei confronti dei manifestanti scesi in piazza per protestare contro la condanna a due anni e cinque mesi di carcere dell'oppositore russo. Ed è di questi giorni la notizia che il governo russo ha convocato al ministero degli Esteri gli ambasciatori di Svezia, Polonia e Germania consegnando una nota di protesta per la partecipazione di alcuni loro diplomatici alle “proteste illegali” del 23 gennaio scorso, a Mosca e San Pietroburgo.

I diplomatici identificati sono stati quindi dichiarati “persona non gradita” e dovranno lasciare la Russia “ nei termini previsti dal diritto internazionale.

I Leader europei condannano l'espulsione dei diplomatici come un atto di aggressione e di arbitrarietà: l'autocrazia russa mostra la sua vocazione repressiva e la sua intima avversione ad ogni realtà democratica: Putin ha inventato "l'opposizione alla russa", esercizio di libertà assolutamente fastidioso a cui si risponde con manganello, manette e, nei casi più insistenti con una buona dose di novichok nelle mutande.

Tutto questo costituisce tragicamente il presente quotidiano in Russia, un presente la cui cronaca allarma e pone in una luce decisamente cupa le azioni dei servizi di sicurezza governativi.

Alla vicenda Navalny si è infatti aggiunto ieri un nuovo capitolo sul quale dovrà essere fatta chiarezza. L’ospedale di Omsk ha annunciato, in una dichiarazione riportata dalla Cnn, la morte improvvisa di Maksimishin Sergey Valentinovich, 55 anni, il medico russo che curò il blogger dissidente nelle ore successive all’avvelenamento col Novichok, nello scorso agosto 2020.

Non sono ancora state rese note le cause del decesso, visto che proprio il portavoce dell'ospedale dove Maksimishin Sergey Valentinovich lavorava si è limitato a comunicare che “con rammarico, vi informiamo che il vice capo medico per l’anestesiologia e la rianimazione dell’ospedale di emergenza, assistente del dipartimento dell’Università statale di medicina di Omsk, dottore di ricerca in scienze mediche Maksimishin Sergey Valentinovich è improvvisamente morto”.

All this tragically constitutes the present daily in Russia, a present whose news alarms and puts the actions of the government security services in a decidedly gloomy light.

In fact, yesterday a new chapter was added to the Navalny affair on which clarity must be made. The Omsk hospital announced, in a statement reported by CNN, the sudden death of Maksimishin Sergey Valentinovich, 55, the Russian doctor who treated the dissident blogger in the hours following the poisoning with Novichok, in August 2020.
